Rabbi Ron still worships God as a Jew; like Jesus and His first disciples did

For some Christians, it is surprising to learn that Jesus and His first disciples lived and worshiped as Jews. Yet this biblical reality adds beauty and clarity to the gospel story. Jesus regularly taught in synagogues (Luke 4:16), celebrated the biblical feasts such as Passover (Luke 22:15), and affirmed that He did not come to abolish God’s Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them (Matthew 5:17). The early believers did not view faith in Jesus as a departure from Judaism, but as the fulfillment of God’s promises to Israel (Acts 3:24–26). Seeing Jesus in His Jewish world helps us better understand His teachings, parables, and mission - and deepens our appreciation for God’s faithfulness throughout Scripture.

Ron was raised in a Jewish family in New York City. While in High School, Ron did two things Jewish people are not supposed to do. First, he made a habit of sneaking out to church. Then, he read the "forbidden" New Testament. As a result, Ron discovered that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Jewish Messiah.

After Ron told his parents about his faith in Yeshua, he attended weekly studies for deprogramming (exit counseling) from 11:00 PM – 12 midnight. Fortunately, Ron waited four years before telling his parents. During this time, he regularly attended church and Bible Studies and read the Bible from start to finish four times. Ron had enough knowledge of the Bible that he recognized the deception of his teacher/counselor. Right from the beginning of his spiritual journey, Ron learned the importance of studying the Bible.

Ron was first mentored by Dr. Robert Crosby. Then he was mentored and ordained into ministry by Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Bernis. In 1992 Ron married Vinu. After a few years of marriage, they had 5 children born in a little less than six years. Ron planted Congregation Mashiach Yisrael in Binghamton, NY and served there until October 2009. Since then, Ron has been serving the Lord in Tampa Bay (Florida).
